Thank you for your interest in a Certificate of Deposit (CD) with Synovus. To apply, we’ll need you to tell us more about yourself and how you plan to fund your account. Once you complete our web application, we’ll follow up with an additional request for documentation, a digital copy of a valid picture id, and electronic signatures you can submit securely through DocuSign.

Requirements for the account owner

  • 18 years or older
  • United States citizen
  • A street and mailing address within the 50 U.S. states

What you’ll need

  • Social Security Number
  • Valid email address and phone number
  • Electronic copy of valid, unexpired, picture ID
  • Account number and routing number for a non-Synovus bank account (used to fund your CD)

Synovus may contact you regarding your account including to assist you with completion of your application, notify you of transaction approval, provide payment reminders, and conduct collection efforts. You agree to notify Synovus immediately if you change your number or transfer your phone to another person. You understand text messages may be seen by anyone with access to your phone. Accordingly, you should take steps to safeguard your phone and your text messages if you want them to remain private.
