Kevin Blair is chairman, CEO and president of Synovus, the largest bank headquartered in Georgia.

Blair was named CEO and president in 2021 and appointed chairman in 2023. He previously served as Synovus’ executive vice president and chief financial officer and senior executive vice president, chief operating officer since joining the company in 2016.

Under Blair’s leadership, Synovus is continuously building upon its deep heritage of supporting the growth and prosperity of its clients and communities. By concentrating on relationship banking and developing new capabilities and solutions, with an emphasis on proactive, value-added advice, the bank is expanding its presence and client base while strengthening existing relationships.

Blair’s broad experience in corporate strategy, business line management, strategic finance and credit risk management, combined with his strong leadership abilities, have positively impacted the $60 billion asset company. He has skillfully guided his team through the industry's transformation to deliver solid financial performance results.

Before joining Synovus, Blair served in numerous leadership roles with SunTrust, including corporate treasurer, head of commercial specialization, and chairman, president and CEO of the Georgia/North Florida region. He also served as a strategic planning analyst with Signet Bank.

Blair sits on the boards of United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Historical Society and Georgia Research Alliance. He also serves as vice chairman of the Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from James Madison University and an MBA from George Washington University.
