Julio Roque leads a Junior Achievement student activity where they learn about real-life financial scenarios.

Julio Roque, private wealth market executive, makes giving back a priority. His dedication to uplifting communities locally and nationally reflects a deep appreciation for his Puerto Rican heritage and the values instilled in him by his family. “Upholding traditions and values from my culture is crucial in my philanthropic work,” Roque explains, showing how his background shapes his enthusiasm for community service.

Roque believes the lessons of resilience, mutual aid and respect for elders are important to help a community thrive. This philosophy led to his recognition by the Florida Panthers during the Celebration of Hispanic Excellence ¡Vamos Gatos! Night in March 2025, when he was honored for his positive community impact.

At the heart of Roque’s volunteerism is his commitment to financial education through Junior Achievement of South Florida, where he sits on the board of directors. He says he hopes to inspire the next generation of business leaders by focusing on smart money management, leadership skills and entrepreneurship.

“I’ve been fortunate to volunteer with children through JA to build their confidence in these areas and show them what’s possible and how they can be successful,” Roque says.

His influence reaches further than JA, as he actively supports the United Way of Broward County and is a Tocqueville Society member. Roque’s other passions include the March of Dimes and Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition.

“Upholding traditions and values from my culture is crucial in my philanthropic work,” Roque explains, showing how his background shapes his enthusiasm for community service.

In his role at the bank, Roque manages and develops talent within the private wealth line of business. And he’s primarily focused on building relationships with clients in the middle market and commercial sectors. “My mission is to grow relationships and add value to our clients,” he says. “Being active in the community enables me to bring more awareness about Synovus.”

Brent Suriano, private wealth senior director, has witnessed Roque’s impact at the bank and in the community. “Julio’s efforts and dedication to the South Florida community elevate the Synovus brand at the highest level,” Suriano says. “His involvement plays a critical role in sharing the Synovus Wealth Services story and expanding our presence in the market.”

Roque says that he’s vowed to continue to engage his team in volunteerism to impact the lives of people in Florida and beyond. “Our South Florida team is phenomenal in their support and participation in community activities,” he says.

Through Roque’s leadership and commitment to service, he shows how one individual can inspire the spirit of service in others to make an even greater impact.”
