Maggie Tanner

Maggie Tanner’s more than two decades of experience have informed her understanding of the complex liability and liquidity needs of families, busy professionals, and business owners. Her expertise incorporates banking solutions into comprehensive wealth strategies tailor-made for each client. A native of Huntsville, AL, Maggie joined Synovus in 2016. In 2020, she received the James D. Yancey Customer Covenant Award and was inducted into the Chairman’s Circle of Excellence. Maggie earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Mississippi. She holds Series 7 and Series 66 certifications, as well as an insurance license.

Maggie’s passion is making banking about her clients, not an institution, and delivering fresh ideas with the highest level of responsiveness and service. She accomplishes this by working seamlessly with Synovus experts in trust, financial planning, mortgage, investments, and insurance, along with external CPAs, attorneys, and other advisors. “I love helping clients think through financial concerns and finding the best solutions for them.” She and her husband, Richard M. Tanner, MD, a general surgeon, recently returned to Alabama with their two children after eight years in Chattanooga, TN. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, biking, cooking, Little League, and traveling.
