Synovus invests $500,000 to support affordable housing in metro Atlanta
COLUMBUS, Ga., Dec. 19, 2025 – Synovus has made a $500,000 equity equivalent investment in Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership Inc.to expand access to affordable and mixed-income housing across metro Atlanta. The investment will support lending activities of the ANDP Loan Fund, ANDP’s community development financial institution, which provides flexible capital to underserved developers and related small businesses focused on affordable homeownership.
Over the past 34 years, ANDP has developed, partnered in or financed more than 15,000 housing units for people with low-to-moderate incomes. To promote healthy communities where families thrive, ANDP supports new construction and rehabilitation of single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and rental apartments, while also providing capital to other affordable housing developers.
“Organizational support from Synovus and others has enabled the ANDP Loan Fund to triple its impact in recent years,” said John O’Callaghan, ANDP president and CEO. “This investment strengthens our ability to provide early, flexible capital so community-based developers can move projects forward and deliver housing where it is needed most.”
With the $500,000 equity investment from Synovus, the ANDP Loan Fund will continue expanding lending opportunities that allow underserved developers to reach deeper into communities experiencing significant housing investment gaps, particularly during the critical pre-development phase.
“By supporting community development financial institutions like ANDP, we’re strengthening communities with affordable housing for families across metro Atlanta,” said Cory Jackson, Synovus market executive for Central Atlanta. “At Synovus, we believe everyperson deserves a safe placeto call home, and we’re committed to empowering communities to thrive and grow.”
Founded in 1991, ANDP is a nonprofit organization that develops, finances and advocates for affordable housing at scale to address the region’s diminishing supply.
