Synovus Names John Acosta Tampa Bay Market President

Tampa, Fla., March 17, 2022 — Synovus Bank today announced the appointment of John Acosta as market president for Tampa Bay. Acosta joins Synovus from Cadence Bank, where he most recently served as executive vice president and the head of business banking.

Acosta joined Cadence Bank in 2012. Previously, he held a number of leadership positions at Regions and managed all financial and sales aspects of the bank's west coast Florida markets. A Florida native, he holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University. He is a graduate of Leadership Tampa and a previous member of the Florida State University College of Business Board of Governors. Acosta has also been involved with several local organizations in the Tampa area, including ALPHA House, the American Heart Association, the Tampa Bay Partnership, and the Tampa and St. Petersburg Area chambers of commerce.
