We provide a secure and safe environment for team members, customers, and third-party service providers, and we protect physical and digital assets enterprise-wide. Our Corporate Security and Safety Policy establishes effective security and safety standards and procedures, in compliance with the Bank Protection Act and industry best practices. All team members, contractors, part-time and temporary workers are covered by the policy and must comply with associated processes and procedures.
Safety programs are managed by their respective lines of business, with responsibility to follow legal and regulatory components, and overarching accountability provided by the Executive Management Committee and Board of Directors.
Training and Awareness
Our Team Member Guide highlights our obligation to provide a safe workplace and to protect team members, customers, and vendors. Any use of threats, threatening behavior (including bullying), violence, force, or intimidation is prohibited.
The Team Member Guide also establishes team member accountability for responding to emergencies and reporting a safety concern or violation that is not an emergency. In addition to a manager, safety monitor or security officer, team members can anonymously report concerns via our confidential Hotline, which is available 24/7.
All team members complete safety and compliance training and acknowledge Team Member Guide policies on an annual basis.
Health and Benefits
To protect and support the health and safety of team members, we offer comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision health care plans, telemedicine, and supplemental insurance products. We also provide additional benefits and training programs, including health and wellness plans, retirement plans with 401K match, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and parental leave. We provide a $15 minimum wage for all team members.
Our paid time off (PTO) policy provides team members with flexible paid time off from work to be used for such needs as vacation, personal or family illness, doctor appointments, school, volunteerism, and other activities of the team member’s choice. We also offer generous leave for team members and family care if eligibility requirements are met.
More information about our benefits program can be found on our careers website.
We are committed to providing work-life balance and team member engagement, and to recruiting and retaining top talent in our industry. We offer full- and part-time job opportunities, temporary and seasonal employment, as well as internships and a fast-track Accelerated Banker program.
We made extensive changes to team member guidelines and protocols during COVID-19 to help meet the needs of families and individuals struggling with work and with shelter-in-place requirements.
We encouraged team members to work from home if feasible and continue to require team members who are ill or positive for COVID-19 to remain at home. For eligible team members required to work onsite, we offered a pandemic bonus and up to 10 additional days of paid time off for self-quarantine, a COVID-19 diagnosis, hardship situations, or self-identification as high risk of serious illness.
In addition to supporting team members, we’ve offered relief provisions for customers, including payment assistance and deferrals on certain loans. Our team is available to offer financial guidance and we provide information and links to various resources on our website as the COVID-19 pandemic persists.
Training and Development
We provide multiple programs, processes, and tools to aid in the growth and development of team members and leaders. Internal promotions are prioritized, with 35% of new positions filled by existing team members. Along with tuition reimbursement, we offer 100% tuition coverage for specialty banking school participation.
We encourage team members to continue learning and growing throughout their careers and to build their own learning journeys based on their individual needs. We offer more than 200 courses for professional and leadership development, including a foundational leadership program for first-line leaders called Ignite, and a program for senior leaders called Catalyst. Additionally, as part of our leadership expectations, all leaders complete unconscious bias training to learn how to be a more inclusive leader.
Our approach to performance management is year-round, with clear goals and priorities aligned behind business objectives and strategies. Team members and their managers mutually agree on performance and developmental goals, which are supported by development conversations held regularly throughout the year, and which factor into a formal year-end performance evaluation.
