Currently using Popmoney®? Here’s what you need to do

We've replaced Popmoney® with Zelle on October 15, and now you have even more options to do more with your money, on your terms. To start sending money to friends, family, and those you know and trust with Zelle, simply log into My Synovus online or via our mobile app and select Send Money with Zelle®. Then, follow these simple steps:

  1. Accept the Zelle Terms and Conditions and follow the instructions on screen.
  2. Select the account you wish to use to send and receive money with Zelle. Because you used Popmoney previously, your information will automatically transfer to Zelle once you enroll.
  3. Review your information; or input any new information.

You can expect other information such as transaction history to transfer automatically to Zelle after you complete the quick one-time enrollment. Your Popmoney transaction history will also still be available in the “Activity” tab.

If you’ve set up recurring or future payments:

Please carefully review the following information and take action as necessary.

  1. Understand the updated limits. With Zelle, funds paid from your account(s) cannot be more than $2,500 per day, or more than $20,000 in the prior 30 calendar days.

  2. Future dated payments will still be sent with Zelle, but there will be some exceptions5. Any scheduled payments using “Charitable Giving” will be canceled.

You can expect to be notified if your payments have been canceled. We strongly encourage you to review any pending activity to verify all payments have processed as expected.

  3. Notify any contacts that you will no longer be using Popmoney. As you begin sending payments with Zelle, we encourage you to ask your contacts to enroll with Zelle as well, so they can receive your payments. To find a full list of Zelle participating banks, visit zellepay.com.

There will be no fee to send or receive money with Zelle. For more information regarding our digital banking products and services, review our Digital Banking Schedule of Fees and Charges.

Thank you for banking with Synovus. We’re always seeking new ways to improve your banking experience and we’re excited to partner with Zelle to bring you a fast, safe and easy way to send and receive money within My Synovus.
