Jim Manley

Market President

A lifelong banker, Jim joined Synovus in August 2017 with more than 28 years of banking experience serving communities in Georgia. Jim’s focus is leading a regional banking team and bringing the Synovus brand to the Macon community, helping both individuals and businesses throughout middle Georgia prosper and reach their full potential.

Jim earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and his MBA from Georgia Southern University. He and his wife, Kathryn, live in Macon with their two sons, where Jim is committed to being an active contributor in the local community through a variety of service-oriented activities.

Steve Slade

Private Wealth Manager

A native of Macon with more than 29 years of banking experience, Steve joined Synovus in March 2018 to lead the growing banking team in the Macon area. After spending the majority of his career working for a national bank and then a “super-regional” bank, Steve is excited to be part of Synovus, “a true regional bank that offers what I feel is the perfect delivery model,” Steve says. “As the bank of here, our local Synovus teams are empowered to offer holistic financial solutions in the communities we serve and provide the resources of a strong regional financial institution.”

Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Georgia. Steve, his wife, Jennifer and their son and daughter are all alumni of First Presbyterian Day School. In his free time, Steve enjoys golf, fishing, hunting, and traveling — especially with the Georgia Bulldawgs.

Amy Fitzpatrick

Commercial Banker IV, Community Banking

Amy joined Synovus in April 2018, bringing more than 25 years of banking experience to our team in Macon. When asked what Amy enjoys most about her career in banking, she says, “I thoroughly enjoy hearing the entrepreneurial stories behind businesses and planning with owners to help them achieve their strategic goals.”

Amy earned her bachelor’s degree from Mercer University, with a major in finance and a minor in accounting. She lives in Macon with her husband and their two children.

Ron Woodford

Senior Vice President, Financial Consultant

Born and raised right here in Macon, Ron has been part of the Synovus team since June 2018. With nearly 24 years of experience in financial services, Ron loves his job. “My clients are the reason I get up every morning for work,” Ron says. “It’s so fulfilling to sit down with my clients, help them put a financial plan together, and then work with them over the years to see that plan through to fruition.”

Ron earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Georgia College, and he also holds the Certified Retirement Planning Counsel (CRPC) designation. Ron lives in Macon with his wife, Melissa, and their two sons, John Walker and Will. An active family, Ron and Melissa enjoy spending time outdoors with their boys and watching them play basketball in the fall. Ron also enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time.

John Carter, CTFA

Senior Trust Relationship Manager and Financial Consultant
Synovus Trust Company, NA

A native Georgian, John joined Synovus in June 2018. He brings more than 20 years of experience in financial, trust, and investment services to our team in Macon. “I enjoy serving our clients and their families, helping them with their investments and related financial needs,” John says. “I am excited to be part of the Synovus team.”

John earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and his MBA in finance from Mercer University. In addition, John is a graduate of Cannon Trust School and ABA Graduate Trust & Estate School. He has the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor designation. He lives in Macon with his wife, Marjorie, and their teenage son. In his free time, John enjoys golf, fishing, hunting, and watching his son play sports.
