Elizabeth Dukes Wolverton
Chief Strategy Officer
Wolverton began her banking career with Synovus in 2003 as Director of Accounting and Financial Analysis. She was promoted to Synovus’ Senior Director of Banking in 2011, and to her current position in 2014. Before joining Synovus, she served as Director of Finance for the BI-LO Center Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. Wolverton also worked as a Senior Accountant in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services Division of Ernst & Young in Greenville, South Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia.
In September 2015, Wolverton was named one of American Banker’s 25 Women to Watch. This annual ranking recognizes women for their impact on their company, industry, and community-at-large, as well as for leadership and innovation in the face of industry challenges. Wolverton was the only banker from Georgia on the 2015 Women to Watch list.

Summary of Responsibilities:
As Chief Strategy Officer, Wolverton works with all business lines, as well as the Executive and Finance teams, to develop, revise, and implement the company’s strategic plan; identify and assess growth and business development opportunities; partner with business unit leaders to quantify return on investment of recommended business development projects; and monitor ongoing profitability.
