Workplace Checking

When you sign up for Workplace Checking, your employees are eligible to open a checking account that’s loaded with benefits and generous in reducing fees for them. We’ll even come directly to your business to complete account-opening on-site to save your employees a trip to their current bank. Best of all, if you’re signed up for Direct Deposit,1 any of your employees who use the service will have the $7.00 monthly fee waived while you enjoy the benefits of more efficient and timely payroll.

For employees, all Workplace Checking accounts feature:

  • Unlimited check writing and unlimited fee-free transactions at all Synovus and Publix® Presto!® ATMs 
  • Three refunds of usage fees for non–Synovus Bank ATM withdrawals, plus three refunds of non–Synovus Bank ATM surcharges, every month2
  • Visa® check card3 with no annual fee and no monthly usage fee
  • Deposits insured by the FDIC up to $250,0004
  • Online Banking and Mobile Banking5 account access, with free, unlimited Bill Pay6 to simplify monthly and recurring bill payments
  • Waive one overdraft or stop-payment fee, get one free insufficient funds charge refund

The Workplace Checking account is only available to employees of participating business customers. All accounts are subject to approval.

  1. The monthly service fee can be waived with at least $1.00 in Direct Deposits per statement cycle to the Workplace Checking account. A Direct Deposit is the electronic deposit of your salary, pension, Social Security or other regular monthly income by your employer or another agency. Transfers from one account to another and deposits made at a branch or ATM are not considered Direct Deposits. Back
  2. We will refund the per-transaction fee charged for the withdrawal at a non–Synovus Bank ATM up to three times per statement cycle. In addition, we will refund the ATM surcharge fee assessed by an ATM owner up to three times per statement cycle. Back
  3. When you apply for a credit card or other credit product, we will base the approval on a review of your personal credit report and score. Back
