First Commercial Bank of Huntsville Celebrates 30 Years of Service
First Commercial Bank of Huntsville, a division of Synovus Bank, celebrated its 30th anniversary with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 16, 2014, at the main office located at 301 Washington Street.
“Huntsville community leaders had a vision for establishing a bank built on a foundation of care, trust, and citizenship,” said Beth Sippel, President and CEO of First Commercial. “This vision was realized over three decades, and we are proud to celebrate today with community leaders, our customers, team members, and friends.”
A group of Huntsville businessmen opened Citizens Independent Bank (CIB) in 1984. CIB was purchased in 1991 by First Commercial Bancshares, and officially changed its name to First Commercial Bank later that year. In December 1992, the bank was purchased by Synovus.
“First Commercial Bank of Huntsville is proud to serve Huntsville and Madison County,” added Kessel Stelling, Chairman and CEO of Synovus. “I want to thank our talented team, loyal customers, and the dedicated Huntsville business community for your contributions to our growth here. We look forward to being a part of this community for many years to come.”
