Bank of Tuscaloosa Names Mark Sullivan CEO

The Bank of Tuscaloosa has named Mark Sullivan as its CEO.  Sullivan has been president of the bank for the past nine years and will now also become the CEO. “I’m very excited about this new opportunity,” stated Sullivan. “We have an outstanding group of team members and an excellent board of directors consisting of strong and active local community leaders. I look forward to working with them to continue our success by being true to our mission of providing responsive, highly personal service to our customers.  Having been with the bank from it’s very early days, I have a great appreciation for what this bank has accomplished over the past 23 years and am committed to continuing the bank’s involvement and service to the Tuscaloosa and Northport communities.”

As CEO, Sullivan succeeds Jim Flemming who has announced his retirement from the Bank. Sullivan joined the Bank of Tuscaloosa in 1991 as Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer and was elected to the board and named President and Chief Operating Officer in 2001. Sullivan is currently a board member, Treasurer and the 2011 Chairman-Elect for the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. He also serves on the boards of Hospice of West Alabama, the Arts & Humanities Council of Tuscaloosa, the Tuscaloosa City Schools Foundation, the DCH Foundation and the Black Warrior Council of the Boy Scouts of America and is its Immediate Past President. He is also a deacon of the University Church of Christ. He received his undergraduate degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Alabama and received his MBA from the University of Alabama Business School. He and his wife Mary Mike have three daughters.
