June 7, 2007, Columbus, GA – Synovus (NYSE: SNV), the Columbus, Georgia-based diversified financial services company, recently announced the presentation of its Winners Awards. This honor is given by executive leadership to individuals or groups who exemplify the Synovus spirit through outstanding performance, service and attitude above the scope of the job expectations.
This year’s honorees include two groups of team members who went above and beyond to help fellow team members, neighbors and customers during the difficult days following the tornadoes that struck several Georgia and Alabama communities on March 1, 2007.
John Kelsoe, Rhoda Tomlinson and David Thompson from Synovus’ Community Bank and Trust in Enterprise, Alabama, and Kay Athon, Kim Dunn, Len Hicks and Buddy Guth with Synovus-owned Sumter Bank and Trust in Americus, Georgia, were all recognized by Synovus Chairman and CEO Richard Anthony. “These team members met the post-storm challenges with determination to care for our team members and customers in any way they could. They demonstrated exceptional leadership skills,” said Anthony.
